Psychological Associate

Amanda Harryman, Psy.D.

First, I want to commend you for taking this important step towards creating a future you want for yourself. Therapy is not always an easy process and it is an incredibly brave decision to choose to make changes in your life and sit in the discomfort. I look forward to sitting in this discomfort with you and embarking on your journey to become the best individual you can be!

Background:
In 2023 I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in child and adolescents from Alliant International University, an APA-accredited program. Prior to that I earned my Masters in Marriage and Family therapy from Pepperdine University. My training consists of working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with focus on providing treatment to those with severe mental health issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-harm, substance use, and autism. I also have experience assessing for mood disorders, autism, learning disabilities, and ADHD through psychological testing.

Therapeutic Approach:
When working with clients I aim to create a welcoming, safe, and non-judgmental environment. In my therapy practices, I utilize an integrative approach that is rooted in psychodynamic therapy and designed to meet each client’s specific needs. I may implement various techniques including those based in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I believe incorporating these techniques helps my clients to understand themselves better, process difficult emotions, identify aspects of their lives they would like to change, and improve emotional regulation.
